She has also shared that the series has no written script yet. WB Television has also picked up the options on Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent, and Jeremy Swift, who plays Leslies Higgins. Securing the trio is a big move for the studio, who will aim to bring back the lead actor and producer, Jason Sudeikis, next.
Hannah Waddingham’s Revelation About Ted Lasso Season 4 Script Concerns Fans
It’s no wonder that Warner Bros. Television tapped Hannah Waddingham, who had been contracted under the aegis of the UK acting union Equity. She won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for Ted Lasso in 2021. The talented actress also played Septa Unella in Game of Thrones and is set to appear alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 8.

When Waddingham appeared for an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she was asked about the reports on Ted Lasso Season 4. She went on to grab the mic and gave a definitive answer that she didn’t know anything about the status of the fourth season. However, she revealed that she would happily return to play Rebecca.
She shared that the cast and writers were great and that it would be stupid not to return to the role. But she once again shared that she didn’t know if a Season 4 was in the works. Waddingham told ET:
I’m in. I’m there. They are some of the greatest loves of my life. That cast and the writers are so magnificent. You’d be stupid not to, you know? So, yeah, I’m totally there. Are we gonna be there? I don’t know.
However, Waddingham gave a crucial update on the season, which has further intensified some of the concerns of fans. When asked about the script of the show, Waddingham shared, “Of course there’s no script.” Fans fear that the studio is trying to milk more cash out of the popular series, without developing a proper plot first.

Ted Lasso Season 3 suffered a bit of this issue. After the immensely popular first two seasons, the writing department slacked for the third season. While fans would happily welcome another season, they need assurance that the season will carry the essence of what made it so popular.
What Went Wrong With Ted Lasso Season 3?
After giving audiences a treat with its almost perfect first two seasons, Ted Lasso definitely dropped the ball on the third. While it was not bad, the show could’ve done better with trimmed-down plot lines and giving more focus to existing character arcs. Many fans were not impressed with the storyline given to Juno Temple‘s Keeley Jones (via r/TedLasso).

Fans also complained that several plotlines were picked up in the season only to be dropped completely. Some fans were also not happy that some of their fan-favorite characters were left with somewhat underdeveloped arcs, including Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca Welton. However, fans also mentioned some of the good parts of the season to be scenes involving Brett Goldstein‘s Roy Kent and Phil Dunster’s Jamie Tartt Jr.

Ted Lasso Season 4 will hopefully rectify these mistakes and focus more on the writing and characters. All three seasons of Ted Lasso are now available for streaming on AppleTV+.
